The Jubilee Year Plenary Indulgence

A plenary indulgence is a grace granted by the Catholic Church through the merits of Jesus Christ to remove temporal punishment due to sin. Catholics can gain a plenary indulgence in this Jubilee Year by making a pious pilgrimage to the Cathedral.

Conditions for the Plenary Indulgence

To obtain the plenary indulgence attached to the visit to a Cathedral, the following conditions must be fulfilled:

Detachment from all sin, even venial sin
Sacramental Confession
Holy Communion
Prayer for the Intentions of the Holy Father
- The prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father may consist of 1 Our Father and 1 Hail Mary
